Aging stars...

Just watched Department. It was a typical RGV movie minus the soul of Satya minus the entertainment factor of Company minus the class of Sarkar (only Part 1,others were forgettable).
RGV is known for launching new faces.Rana Daggubati is not knew to bollywood but lanched in a new role all together.RGV could not take the best out of Rana Garu at all.In fact Rana was much better in Dum Maaro Dum even though he had a limited scope.

Department is a totally ghisa-pita movie written by RGV prodigy  Nilesh Girkar. When Ramu once said he can make 20 more underworld movies,i would ask him to consider it,if he is saying that based on writing skills of Mr.Girkar.

Lets not gang-bang Girkars saheb's predictable story line here, the cast wasn't too impressive either.Big B seems like wasted in this movie.Big B should always be portrayed as a classy criminal like Sarkar.Sarjerao gaikwad(Amitabh's character) is neither a classy gansgter nor a classy politician.RGV could have used him better.Sanjay Dutt is a torture on big screen. He is too ugly and he cannot act in spite of being in the industry for 30+ years.he has the same dialogue delivery and body language ,no matter is he is doing a role of a gangster or a policeman.First of all he doesnt fit the image of a law enforcer (it has nothing to do with his crime record in real life). He should stick to Munnabhai franchise for ever.He will always be a wannabe Stallone who himself is facing difficult time.Remember Kambakht Isshq?????????

My main focus was on two people,Sanjubaba and Big B.One who is aging gracefully and still ruling the bollywood while other is losing it and still being pushed and favoured by some producers who i think have suicidal tendencies.Agneepath was all about Rishi Kapoor who belittled a character like Kancha Cheena ,thanks to in ablity of Dutt sahab and some great acting by RK.Hats off to him.

These guys get paid to act and maintain their bodies and look good, but Sanju hasn't been taking anything of it seriously. He might have started a new life off-reel but he has nothing new to offer on-reel.

Salman Khan was also following Sanju at a point..but now all of a sudden he is trying hard to get things back together.Looking fitter and better with his hair weaving. He also tried to act well in Bodyguard.

SRK is losing it.He is good with his KKR.Ra-one and Don 2 were the two  most forgettable movies i ever seen.Attention seeking Ho!!

Amir Khan is god when it comes to survival. He is definitely over ape the Tom Hanks task.Satyamev Jayate is a master stroke where he makes crores and also gets appreciated for his so called rising up for social cause. Now thats how actors transform to businessman.Corporate Social Responsibility thing.

Saif Ali,who is at the wrong side of 40 ,is  romancing Kareena.Other than that he  gets time to act in movies with 1 week lifespan like Agent Vinod. He is not doing bad being a sexy agent with an irritating voice like that.He needs a voice over desperately.Better late than never.

Anil Kapoor is another survivor of the lot.Sad to see his 80s buddy Jaggudada doing stupid TV commercials with his eye-bags on.
Anil has done Slumdog and MI4 in 3 years. Two major Hollywood movies in sucha short time.I really want to know who is his agent in Hollywood.Maybe he will sign me and get me work too.He has got work for Anil,so he is really good at his work.

That reminds me of another garbage fiesta movie,TEZZ.Ajay and Anil teaming up along with the director to screw the brains of the viewers.

Ajay Devgan is always fit ,looks good (when he doesn't dye his hair with some ridiculous shade ) .Other wise he is still trying to perfect his 3rd expression. He is master of the previous two.One of which is specially reserved for Golmaal franchise.

I am so glad the likes of Priety Zinta,Susmita Sen and Rani Mukherji gone into hiding and not making a fool out of themselves like their male counterparts.Bollywood has always been sexist pairing a fresh faced sweet teenage actress against an actor older than her dad.The ladies also retire early in Bollywood.Exceptions are  like Madhuri who come to haunt back in the camouflage of a kaamwaali Baai. She is never going to be Meryl Streep or Susan Sarandon for sure.

Humans age, even i age,but when you age you are supposed to get better at your trade.I wish the bunch of unprofessionals in Bollywood knew that. Its not just about aging gracefully it is about getting seasoned.

On an Entourage!!!

After years of denial, finally i thought about giving a try to Entourage ,the HBO original comedy drama series.I knew it was loosely based on the life of Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg and his friends and family. It is all about life in Hollywood.

Frankly speaking the people in Hollywood scare me.In fact people in all film industries scare me,including bollywood .They can act classy ,talk smooth and have millions of people behind them but they have that aspect of cheapness and greed in them. The movie industry all over world can claim to be corporate ,organized and honest business but it is hard to take the greed and cheap mentality out of them.I love movies,i love the art but lately the art factor is limited to film festivals and it has been mostly about money. You see unworthy actors landing big roles and making a mess of it.In bollywood the star kids are like a pest that has been leeching the art from inside.

If you are a struggler then you have to see it hard way,or maybe you just cannot see it ever. One fine day you can wake up to see/read about a movie or its music ,which was actually your brainchild. And you might feel robbed and raped off your idea and talent.

Its pretty common in bollywood when plagiarists make millions over stolen material and sometimes you are not paid for your job.It is a shame to see movies lifted from hollywood flicks and made in a poor way.The director completely fails to Indianise the concept ,so it is more easy for the audiences to accept.Bollywood ,no matter how popular it is,it strictly lacks professionalism. After watching Entourage i came to know a few inside things about Hollywood and i do appreciate the way they handle things over there.

In India ,i come from Mumbai city, which is like the HQ of bollywood.Trust me,the industry is run by handful people. Some of them belonging to a particular community and who only give opening to artists or people from their own.The concept of professionalism is under huge doubt here with most of the unaccounted money being invested in the industry by the likes of Dawood and co.

The bollywood whines like a bitch about the privacy.but its the same people like dawood who are selling pirated copies all over the world and making big bucks.

Bollywood should seriously ask a question to themselves. Is our work worth to be watched in a multiplex by spending more than 150 rupees per piece??

Answer is NO.No one would like to spend so much money for garbage storyline and scripts which are poorly lifted from the west.No one wants to see 40+ Amir and Shahrukh with wrinkles all over their faces wearing hep clothes and pretending to be in college. No one wants to see "heroines" projected as sex symbols rather than an important character in the movie. The name Bollywood itself is "inspired " from Hollywood. Why couldn't they think of a better name?

Piracy is equally bothering Hollywood. They are making good money but they need to bring the cost of DVDs down and make them readily available all over the world, uncut and uncensored. Then they wont get a chance to bemoan how internet pirates are ruining their business and how piratebay is the biggest villain.

Piracy is a crime and every crime has its reason. There is no point in fastening the laws to kill the crime, the criminals are smart enough to find loopholes.Instead trying knowing the root cause.People love to pay out of their pockets for a worthy piece.Everyone like being entertained after all with quality stuff.

While i am on my entourage about the films and movie world...you guys keep it reel..oops real...
